How to Hold Round Objects While Drilling
Sometimes when you're trying to drill a hole in a round object like this piece of pipe, it keeps rolling on you. Well, here's a way to keep that from happening. Clamp down a scrap piece of wood and cut notches into the ends with a jigsaw. Cut off the wood a couple of inches below the bottom of the V, set the pieces on the bench top, lay the pipe, dowel or other round object into the notch, press down with moderate pressure and drill away. No slip, no roll and I've got the hole just where I want it.
