How to Make this Impossible Looking Nail Illusion

I’m fascinated with woodworking puzzles, illusions and tricks. Partly because they are fun to share with family and friends, but, more importantly, because I can make them myself. Here’s one of my favorites, a nail piercing a block of solid wood … implausible because there is no apparent way the nail could have gotten where it is.
