When my wife asked me to cut a hole in the granite countertop on our kitchen island and install a prep sink, I cringed -- partly due to the fact I’d never done it before and also because I had visions of possibly ruining a perfectly fine piece of natural stone. What I found though, and this is often the case in home improvement, was that once I'd gotten some expert advice on how it was done, the task didn’t seem nearly so daunting.
