Since I’ve been in my home, my garage has never accommodated an automobile.  It’s always been my workshop -- my haven if you will.  I’ve done a good deal to make it both a functional workspace and an environment that’s comfortable year-round.  The original concrete floor was not only tiring on my legs and feet but disturbingly cold in the winter months.   The solution solved both of these problems and made quite a handsome addition to boot.

When my wife asked me to cut a hole in the granite countertop on our kitchen island and install a prep sink, I cringed -- partly due to the fact I’d never done it before and also because I had visions of possibly ruining a perfectly fine piece of natural stone.  What I found though, and this is often the case in home improvement, was that once I'd gotten some expert advice on how it was done, the task didn’t seem nearly so daunting.   And, to give wifely credit where it's due, once finished, the new sink was, admittedly, a very convenient addition to the kitchen.
