A while ago, I installed French doors between our family room and living room. When I widened the opening, I exposed a section of sub-flooring. The solution, of course, was to put down a few planks of new hardwood which, naturally, didn’t match the surrounding surface. Rather than have the floors of both rooms refinished, I decided to try and match the finish on the new floor to that of the old. The result was rather successful and, I think, worth sharing. Take a look and see if you agree.
