When I removed a wall section while widening a doorway, I exposed a small section of hardwood flooring with a gaping hole in it. My mission was to replace a couple of scarred planks and, hopefully, patch the finish so that I could avoid having to refinish the entire room. The technique I used here would also work for many types of prefinished tongue and groove flooring, where removing a single interlocking board can prove to be a challenge. I think you might find the solution useful should you ever encounter a similar situation.
