Smart Device Turns Any Wall Receptacle into Phone Charging Station
SnapPower has done it again. Last year, the company’s guide light that’s built into a wall receptacle plate caught my attention. Now, they’ve incorporated this same technology into a wall plate that doubles as a USB phone charging device.
Leaves Electrical Outlets Free
Not only does this ingenious invention eliminate bulky transformers, it leaves outlets completely free for other appliances, lamps or whatever – something that’s particularly nice on a kitchen countertop where electrical receptacles can be in high demand.
No Wiring Required
The company’s SnapPower prong technology completely eliminates the need for any wiring. Flexible clips on the back of the cover plate make contact with the terminal screws on the sides of the receptacle and draw power from there. A circuit board is built right into the bottom section of the cover itself. The technique is so novel, that UL had to create a new category in order to grant approval.
Installs in a Minute
Installation is as simple as removing the existing plate, slipping the SnapPower Charging Station plate over the receptacle and replacing the cover plate screw.
